Yes, the firing pin is on the hammer but they also installed something called a retractable firing pin block so supposedly you can have all Chambers loaded and not worry about something hitting the hammer and having a round go off. Hope this helps.

Yes it is on the hammer but it is a "floating" firing pin. The Cattleman II's internal safety mechanism (floating firing pin) disengages the firing pin when the gun is not cocked, thus allowing it to float free in the hammer. The firing pin can only extend and strike a chambered round when the hammer is cocked.
