Kevin, the PT99 Taurus has a three-position frame-mounted ambidextrous safety which allows these guns to be carried in classic DA "cocked-and-locked" mode, as well as functioning as a DA decocking lever. The PT92 can also come with this feature depending on the exact models.
I really thought about buying one of these couple years ago but ended up on the Beretta m9a1. Only difference I could find was the 99 has adjustable sights and the 92 has fixed sights. If you like Beretta clones another one to check outs the girsan regard mc, I've heard they're very solid pistol that some actually like better than the Beretta 92s and around $400-$450.
