No, you can't buy handguns out of state. If you don't have a driver's license proving you live in that state the ffl won't transfer it into your name. Now long guns you shouldn't have an issue. Sorry but hope this helps.
No. You can buy from an online retailer and have it shipped to an ffl who will do the background check/transfer in your state. But out if state residents can't purchase handguns in states they don't reside in.
Under federal law, you can only purchase a handgun from within your own state of residence. If you want to buy a handgun from an out of state source, by law you are required to have the person out of state ship the gun to a licensed firearm dealer located in your state, then that shop can transfer the handgun to you.
Aaron, no Sir. An FFL can do an FFL to FFL transfer. Some will , some won't. If you find a handgun you want out of state, just see if they are willing to ship to an FFL in your state of residence. You will cover the shipping/insurance. Cheers and stay safe!
