The 'manual' model has a manual safety switch while the other does not.
The XRAY refers to the night sites, and the Manual refers to the manual safety l, there are multiple versions with both of these features.

For concealed carry I'd recommend the double action manual 9 since it has a manual thumb safety. For home defense I'd probably say the 365 with x-ray night sights, since guessing most home invasions happen at night. I have the 365xl, it has night sights and a manual safety just a little bigger.
