Ted, most standard 3 inch and 2.5 inch new .410 ammo works fine out of the Shockwave. Remington, Winchester, Fiocchi etc all work fine. This will handle all sorts of ammo. Slugs, birdshot, 3 inch shells, 2.5 inch shells, pretty much whatever you throw at it it'll function with. Hope this helps.

Ted, what works best depends on what you are using it for. It will handle any 2 1/2" or 3" shells, whether they be birdshot, buckshot, or slugs.
