Yes, this is rated for +p ammo. All manufacturers recommend limited use though since it can wear parts out quicker than standard velocity ammo but unless you're shooting thousands of rounds I doubt you'll ever notice a difference between standard velocity ammo. Hope this helps.

Yes this will be fine with plus p for carry, but most of your practice ammo should be standard. Federal HST has a standard pressure hollow point that has pretty good expansion, even from short barrels, so that could be a better option, if you wanting to get in more reps with your carry ammo. Robert, yes Sir but, you should limit the quantity with more frequent cleaning and maintenance since gun battering will be more pronounced. Also be aware that +P rounds were designed to burn the extra powder in at least a 4 inch barrel so the shorter the barrel the less benefit of increased velocity (physics). You will not get the same amount of increased velocity from a shorter barrel as you would from a longer barrel where the powder is completely burned before the bullet leaves the barrel. In many cases with shorter barrels, the increased muzzle flash, extra recoil will make it harder to stay on target if need be for follow up shots and will wreck your hearing & night vision more in a building such as your home when firing. Today's JHP's such as standard pressure Golddots, HST, etc are plenty sufficient performers. Cheers and stay safe!
