Frank, no, just remove the screws holding the current grip. The grip slides off easy. Replace the new grip and insert the screw. Might want to use a bit of blue Loctite if you have it, although its not necessary. Have a great day!

Frank, no machine work necessary. These are a drop in replacement set and should require no additional work other that the physical switch. Cheers and stay safe!
