Depends Wich state you live in. Most states don't require any type of license to buy one but a few states do like new York, Massachusetts and Illinois require a license to own. You can call and ask your local FFL they'll know the most up to date laws or post again with the state you live in and one of us can tell you but kinda hard to give a definite answer without knowing the state. Like I said most states you don't need one. Hope this helps.
