So I just watched the video James linked to and it wasn't a video that covered the difference between the recon 2 and the recon 3 at all. The video did give a good overview if the included features on the recon 3 and id say the 2 rifles are nearly identical, except the recon 3 comes with a 2 chamber compensator/ muzzle brake, where the recon 2 comes with standard A2 flash hider. Other then that they are identical, same fired lower, same magpul furniture, same rifling, same nickel boron coated trigger. Just depends on if you prefer a louder, fire ball signature out of the muzzle in low light but softer shooting, or a little more muzzle rise/ recoil, but less noise and less fireball in low light
