Sig 229R 22LR does it come with the E2 grip and what length barrel ? I was told by Sig customer service that current model comes with E2 grips and 3.9 barrel not 4.5 barrel as posted.

Hi John its 4.5 barrel I don't see another .22 model on Sigs Sight. The newest is a 9mm. You can purchase the grips here though s I see none of their .22's come with them. https://www.sigsauer.com/store/e2-grip-upgrade-kit-for-p229-da-sa.html  Allegedly, the 'new' P229 will have the E2 slide, the E2 grip, the .40 cal frame, and hence by necessity a new 15 round magazine. The question on my mind is what is really being discontinued here? It looks like both the E2 and the Classic P229. That also raises the question, for those of us that have a bunch of standard 13 rd mags, will they work in the 'new' P229? I doubt it. But, they will work in the E2, which of course, is going away.

John, this is not the E2 Grip/3.9" Barrel newest model. This is an earlier model according to UPC code.
