Yes, this will fire slugs just fine. Videos online of people shooting 3inch magnum slugs, it'll kick like a mule but won't hurt anything. Hope this helps.

Chris, no issue with firing slugs Sir. This has a 3 inch barrel but a 2.5 inch chamber so 2.5 inch slug and shot loads should be used. Cheers and stay safe!
