Keeping it well cleaned and lubed will help reliability alot. Since it's a pump action and from what I hear and read a very reliable pump action this should function flawlessly, especially if it's well maintained. For cold weather id recommend lube not grease cause grease when cold gets thick and makes parts stick. Other than that shouldn't have an issue. Hope this helps.
