According to colt manufacturing it has a stainless steel slide, frame and match grade Barrel. So it's actual stainless steel and not just coated. Hope this helps.

Donald, the slide/frame sides are a semi gloss Stainless Steel while the rest of the slide/frame are a brushed Stainless Steel as seen in this video : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=38qrJg0YT9c

It's a brushed stainless finish on the flats, matte on the top of the slide.
