Can't find anywhere saying if it's metal lined but I was looking at armalite a2 handuards and I couldn't find any that were metal lined, so I doubt this one is. But if it isn't and you want one that is they're inexpensive and easy to replace. Hope this helps.

Yes this model includes a metal heat shield under the polymere handguard.
