I have the same rifle great plinking rifle. I personally have a Leupold rifleman 4-12 on mine but Its a little much cause it's a 250-300 dollar scope on a 200 dollar rifle. I have a 3-9 Nikon prostaff rimfire scope on my 17hmr and think for half the price of the Leupold it's hard to tell much of a difference in quality. Plus the Nikon prostaff rimfire is specifically made for rimfire cartridges like 22lr, so think that would be a great scope for your Marlin. If you want a silver scope Simmons makes a 3-9 scope that would look great on your stainless Marlin. Hope this helps.
