I got this gun about a month ago, first got the opportunity to try it last weekend. First magazine went through fine, after that it refused to chamber a round. I tried two different magazines with the same result. I either have to palm butt the bottom to get it to chamber or it will do it on its own randomly. Is this a known issue with this gun or did I get a dud?

Stan, I would try disassembling and lightly lubricating the interior of the magazine wall, make sure the follower spring connection is correct for proper feed angle, reassembling and trying again. If the same results then the issue may be the pistol in which I would contact Phoenix Arms for resolution at 909.937.6900. Cheers and stay safe!

Try CCI MINI Mag ammo it sound like the ammo you were using was either a lower power round or just had a bullet style that the gun does not like. Most  22lr pistols are very ammo specific and picky in what they will work with
