Ronnie, the barrel is stamped 5.56 NATO so it will accept either 5.56 or .223. Cheers and stay safe!

The barrels chambered for 556 so this can safely shoot both 223 or 556. Barrels stamped with 223 can only shoot 223. But this one's stamped 556 so it can do either. Hope this helps.
