Some striker fired guns have Precocked strikers (Vp9, PPQ, PDP) and it is supposed to give the trigger a lighter, shorter, crisper break. Striker fired guns that don't have precocked strikers are generally referred to by some manufacturers as Double action only (DAO). I own this exact pistol you linked to, and it has a super crisp flat faced trigger, that breaks right at 90⁰, and about 4½ of pressure, the reset is short, and the wall on both the initial shot and follow up shots, is super crisp with a clean break. The XDM META trigger is on par with other top striker fired pistols, like the VP9 walthers, and CZs.

Double-action/single-action means the first shot out of the gun is fired by cocking and releasing the firing mechanism — hammer or striker — with the first trigger pull. In short, DAO has 2nd strike capability.

Double action striker means the slide pulls the striker back 3/4 of the way. Then the trigger pull finishes pulling the striker back the other quarter of the way. The trigger also releases the striker. So it performs two actions, hence double action. A single action trigger only performs one action and that's releasing the hammer or striker.
