If the picture is accurate then Edward is correct, the pistol pictured has a paddle magazine release. "A lot of American customers did not care for the magazine release on the original Walther PPQ. So Walther designed PPQ M2 with a button-style release. This button-style release is frankly excellent and easy to use. It's reversible, so if you're a left-hand shooter, you just have to reverse the other side to get full use of the gun." That's a copy and paste from a review of the M2, I personally prefer the paddle mag release.
