The takedown pin on my new Colt CCU will not insert fully (flush on the rt side). It looks like, from the marks of the retaining pin, that it never has. There is a ridge on the end of the pin just beneath the head that makes the pin very slightly larger for the last 1/4 inch. The pin stops there at the receiver. Is this normal machining for that pin, or should it be the same diameter its entire length. I didn't want to force it in if it is a bad pin and damage the receiver. Please advise.

If the pin is flush on the opposite side and locked into the detent then it's okay don't force it deeper.
