Thinking about buying a S&W 442 38 Special +P. I know the 442-1 has a safety lock. But what is the major difference between the 442 and LE 442 both S&W 38 Special +P? The LE has to be a law enforcement officer.

No difference, just priced differently (and listed separately) for the qualified professional discount program.

Johnny, there is zero difference in the standard and LE firearm themselves. The LE / Qualified Professional packages are sold to First Responders an a manufacturer discount.
