All of the single action revolver reproductions I've encountered have had relatively small grips, and they seem consistent with historical grips. I believe the grips were kept fairly compact since they were designed with cavalry in mind, and they would also need to hold the reins in their hand in addition to the gun. There may be some alternative grips you could install that would be better for your grip, although I've been fairly successful with just choking up on the grip.

The size of the Traditions SAA replicates the dimensions of the genuine Colt SAA. Have a great day!
