Would the 22 cal ARX' 150 pistol's size and weight make this a suitable weapon for home defense purposes? I do not need a weapon that my wife can't shoot and handle. Plus, a caliber that will easily shoot thru walls is not a good idea in my neighborhood.

Johnny, if your wife is recoil sensitive, this will work in a pinch. I would get some of the 30rd mags.

Hi Johnny I would look into  .38 or 357 revolver. Point and shoot easy to handle. alot come with lasers now also

while it is better than a sharp stick there ate much better home defense options. I would look at a Bersa Thunder .380 . I would also try to find a range that has rental guns so she can try different guns/calibers

Johnny, I would not recommend it for home defense.  However, it is better than nothing and looking down the barrel of a gun will give an intruder a reason for pause.  I would recommend a small 5-shot .38 special +P like a Taurus, S&W or Ruger.  If you want a semi-auto an EAA Witness Pavona or Bersa Thunder in .380 ACP might work.
