This will work fine with most commercial 308. As with any firearm you might find a brand or two it just doesn't like for some odd reason but other than that will run fine with hotter 308. This will also accept 7.62×51nato Wich is the military version of 308. Hope this helps.

Neil, yes Sir. Factory new 308 or 7.62x51 ammunition will work just fine. Just buy a few boxes of various brands for your intended purpose to find which is most accurate in your gun before stocking up. Cheers and stay safe!
