Hi John, I would call Kahr again and ask for a supervisor until I got some answers. Wish I could help. also in 5 weeks they should've replaced it by now if under warranty!
I would become a "Squeaky wheel" and call complaining to the supervisor and if I got no satisfaction there I would keep going up the chain of command until some one fixed the problem. If I bought it new for a good local gun shop I would see if they could apply some pressure on Kahr
John, you should call and ask to speak with a manager for a "Status" on your firearm. If they do not offer a resolution within a reasonable amount of time, submit your complaint through the BBB even though they are not accredited by the BBB. Several people have gotten full refunds and moved on to better products/service. https://www.bbb.org/central-western-massachusetts/business-reviews/guns-and-gunsmiths/kahr-arms-auto-ordnance-factory-in-worcester-ma-209283
