Eddie, this is excellent for long range Sir. Most firearms are more accurate than the shooter unless of course, you are Bob Lee Swagger. The 308 is inherently accurate but I would consider this rifle chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor for longer range accuracy. Cheers and stay safe!

Yes, this would be great for long range. Howa rifles have a sub moa accuracy guarantee, Wich means it'll shoot a 3 shot group that measures less than 1 inch at 100 yards, 2 inches at 200 yards, 3 inches at 300 yards and so on. I agree with james that 6.5 creedmoor is definitely a better long range cartridge but 308 will definitely get the job done. Howa makes some great rifles, actually have this exact one on my wishlist.
