Yes Steven, this will be a "drop-in barrel for the vast majority of Government 1911's. Of course, due to variations in pistol dimensions, minor fitting may be required for installation in a low number of 1911's.

I haven't installed a barrel yet that was truly drop in on a 1911. You notice the barrel doesn't have a link. There are different length links depending on the gun. That section of barrel will also likely need cut with a tool made for it. I would suggest doing a little research so you know what is involved. Brownells website has articles and videos on the subject. YouTube is another source of information. You can also get videos from AGI or Wilson Combat on building 1911s.
