Michael, since this laser sight uses a magnet to attach to a barrel's muzzle, this will work on a pistol or rifle or shotgun barrel.

It should work on any steel barrel, but may not work on some stainless steel barrels that are high chromium content. Generally as a "rule of thumb", magnets do not stick or stick very well to stainless steel.
