They make shotgun tube mounts to be used with it.... so it should be fine if securely mounted. I have a handful of TLR pistol lights mounted on pistols and rifles, including a few game spotters. Never had a problem... even when they were in the blast radius of my braked SBR (just got powder burns).
Roger, yes this will work fine on a shotgun. Machined aircraft aluminum sealed construction with anodized finish. High temperature, shock mounted, impact resistant Boro Float glass lens. Reviewers on Amazon report no issues when mounted on shotgun. Have a great day!

This will work fine on a 12 ga, recoil won't be an issue. If for some reason something did happen stream lights have a limited lifetime warranty. Hope this helps.
