It would be perfect actually John!
Yes John, the AR556 will work just as well as any other AR. I would equip it with a decent 3-9x40 or higher magnification optic for close up and distance work. Of course ammunition to match your quarry will be key. A favorite predator load I use that is laser accurate and puts em down fast is https://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/85839/Fiocchi+Rifle+Ammo+Extremma+223+Rem%2F5.56+NATO+V-Max+50GR+200
It will be great with good optics. Ruger gives you a quality rifle with great customer service. then comes the real fun trying out different ammo until you find the "right" ammo that the rifle Loves
This would be a good choice for hunting predators equipped with a red dot. Accuracy wise it is a 200 yard and under rig. An HBAR or a bolt gun in .223/5.56 would be a better choice if you are looking to do long range work.
