John, the BD Model has a Manual Safety that also functions as A Decocker. The D Model has a Decocker Only (has a spring that returns the lever back to the up position after decocking pistol). The B Model has a Manual Safety Only. The decocking lever mounted on the left side allows the hammer to be easily lowered on a loaded chamber for a safe, 'hammer down' carry.
