Highly Anthony. For the cost to performance ratio, this is a tough package to beat. A solid deer getting 308 rifle for yester years 22 prices is a win win in any book. You would be safe with most any of the Remington and Savage brands of rifles in 308 for deer hunting.
I would seriously consider the Savage Model 11 w/ Nikon scope package over the Remington. Costs about $100 more, but you're getting a quality Nikon scope with it, and the Savage has their "accutrigger" trigger which is excellent. You need to try both rifles on your shoulder if possible, see of you like the feel of one over the other. Here's the savage: https://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/78128/Savage+11+TH+XP+308+NIKON Good Luck!
Remington 783 is a solid gun but the Savage model 11 would be my choice. Just a little more money but you have a great out of the box set up.
had to beat the value and with .308 there are few animals in the country that you cant hunt
