Julio, if the gun is rated for 5.56, it can shoot either 5.56 or .223 cartridges. If it is rated for .223 it can only shoot .223. The DB15 will shoot either rounds safely. Have a great day!

Firearms rated for 5.56 can shoot both 223 or 5.56. now 223 chambered firearms can only shoot 223 because 5.56 has higher pressure and can cause damage to the firearm or worse. 5.56 is the military version of 223. Just remember if the barrels stamped 5.56 it can shoot both. If it's stamped 223 it can only shoot 223. Hope this helps.
