Michael, this is a standard Pump Shotgun. Capacity: 13 (1.75" Shells), 8 (2.75" Shells), 7 (3" Shells). Just don't use 1.75 inch shells if CT has the limit you speak of. Cheers and stay safe!

Michael, this gun would not be CT legal. It doesn't matter what size shells you use, it has the capacity to accept 13 shells. They do make a 10rd capacity 590S that has an 18.5" barrel instead of the 20", unfortunately it is out of stock. budsgunshop.com/product_info.php/products_id/140725/mossberg+&+sons+51603+590s+tactical+12+185+10%2b1

This holds 13+1 in the chamber. So unfortunately this would be illegal in Connecticut. Sorry but hope this helps.
