while you do not have to contact them it never hurts to make contact before the gun arrives
Lucas, Buds will send all your contact information to the listed FFL. I contact my local FFL just out of courtesy and to let them know I have a firearm in route. Cheers and stay safe!
As James said, Buds will forward your info to the FFL dealer but I also would give a heads up courtesy call.
Lucas, it's optional if you want to contact the FFL before purchasing or not. I always do just so they know its on the way and there's no surprises. Things happen like the FFL dealer might be on vacation, may have passed away, and so on. Buds does include your phone number so the FFL dealer can contact you when it arrives but not all FFLs will contact you. Sometimes you will have to contact them. I always watch the tracking number and call them when I know it's delivered. Hope this helps
Lucas, it's always a good idea to call them and let them know you have a firearm coming, especially if it is the first time using them. At that time, you can ask if he will call you when it is ready for pick up. Some FFL's will not contact you when the gun arrives. Good luck and have a great day!
