Zach, shotguns work on the same principal as .357 Magnum & .44 Magnum being able to fire the shorter .38 Special and .44 Special rounds respectively. A 3 inch chambered shotgun will also fir the shorter 2 3/4 inch shells no issue. Cheers and stay safe!
