Brad, this has a 3 inch chamber so 2-3/4 inch and 3 inch shells will work fine in this. It has a smooth bore so you can shoot bird shot, buck shot or slugs, rifled slugs will work best. As for brands really any brand should work fine in this. If using 2-3/4 inch shells I'd stick with standard or higher velocity rounds to completely cycle the bolt until it's broke in. Other than that most brands will work great. Hope this helps.
Brad, most 12ga brands will work. It is recommended to break it in with high velocity loads. I would recomend the following Bird, Buck and Slug loads to do this. https://www.budsgunshop.com/product_info.php/products_id/411559457/rio+game+load+hv+12ga+2-34%22+1-14oz+3-34dram+#6+1330fps+25rd+box -------------------------- https://www.budsgunshop.com/product_info.php/products_id/713073446/nobelsport+12ga+275%22+00-buck+10rd+box -------------------------- https://www.budsgunshop.com/product_info.php/products_id/411559534/rio+royal+star+slug+12+ga+2-34%22+1oz+slug+5rds
Brad, brand really doesn't matter as much as velocity. Stick with higher velocity shells (1250 fps or higher) and they should cycle just fine. Some guns are finicky with different ammo, so try a box before you stock up. Have a great day!
