William, I would confirm with your local FFL dealer since they will have the most up to date laws. Sorry can't give a definite answer but hope this helps some.
Always check with your ffl they will have the best legal answer. Yes it is legal. Some counties have restrictions like cook. And 5 round is the limit in some of these counties. You can bump up to a 10 round mag in other counties that do not have magazine limits. You can look up your local magazine limits on google or even contact a local ffl.
