Terry, it depends on the model and make. If it's chambered in 5.56/223 the most common thread pitch is 1/2×28 so it should fit fine just by screwing it on.if you post again with the model can give a more definite answer. Hope this helps.
If it's a 5.56/.223 barrel it should be 1/2x28 thread. So any .22 caliber muzzle device with that thread pitch will work. It's a .300 blackout it would be a .30 cal muzzle device with a 5/8x24 thread pitch.
