Michael, your best option is to apply heat. Usually manufacturers use loctite or something similar Wich can make them difficult to remove. Adding heat with a blow dryer or something similar will help loosen it. If that doesn't work I'd recommend taking it to a gunsmith before accidentally stripping it. Hope this helps.

If the plate is not on the gun you could try a little heat on it. Did you put the screws in yourself if so what did you use to do did you use loctite or rock set if you used rock set soaking it in hot water will loosen it up
