Tricia, definitely look at Texas. Not only is TX 2A friendly (a permit is required for concealed carry) taxes are low, and daytime winter temps are in the 50's on average. TX does have an 8.25% sales tax, but you save SO much on taxes (NO state income tax), it's well worth it!
don"t go to new jersey
Patricia, T E X A S = The Exceptionally X-Tra Appealing State! Tough to be in a better 2A Friendly State. Cheers and stay safe!
Definitely Texas. Open carry for residents and concealed carry license available also and very easy to get. Warm 85 to 90 percent of the year. Low cost of living. GREAT hunting. Too many positives to list.

Patricia, the best state to be a gun owner would hands down be Texas. I live in Pennsylvania and right now our gun laws are pretty good. Just stay away from, California, new York, new jersey, Maryland, Massachusetts, Illinois might have the worse gun laws. Hope this helps and good luck moving.
