Devon, this is classified as a Rifle since the barrel is at least 16 inches and it has a Stock. Cheers and stay safe!

Devon, this is classified as a rifle. If it has over a 16 inch barrel it is a rifle. Under a 16 inch barrel is a pistol. Then you also have a short barreled rifle Wich is a firearm with a barrel under 16 inches but has a stock instead of a pistol brace Wich requires a $200 tax stamp. Hope this helps.

Devon, this has a 16.5" barrel and a stock so it is classified as a rifle, no handgun permit needed. Have a great day!
