To my knowledge, there should be no differences now, but I recommend contacting Springfield to verify. Prior to 2016, Springfield use to include a magazine pouch and holster with all their firearms. They had an Essentials line, designated by the 'e' in the model number, to indicate the pistols that would not have the holster or magazine pouch. These pistols were often lower in price as a result. Beginning in 2016, Springfield no longer ships any of there pistols (aside from the 1911s) with the holster or magazine pouch, effectively making all models the Essentials models. Again, I recommend confirming this with Springfield, as this information could've changed recently.
A holster and mag pouch is the extras you'll get for the increased price. Not worth it in my opinion. Depends on the type of shooter you are.
