Jonathon, yes this will work fine. Both are threaded for 5/8×24 and 7.62×51 is a bigger round so the hole will be big enough. It won't work as well as one specifically made for a 6.5 creedmoor but it will work. I purchased a ultradyne Pegasus 6.5mm brake for my Savage 10 ba stealth and it's been great. If interested I bought mine on Midway USA for around $100. Hope this helps.
