Gene, yes this is perfectly fine to dry fire. If you plan to dry fire it alot I would recommend snap caps, if you aren't going to alot really no reason for snap caps. Hope this helps.

Gene, it is fine to dry fire, but DO NOT DRY FIRE YOUR M&P® 9 SHIELD™ EZ ® PISTOL WHILE THE SLIDE IS REMOVED. DOING SO CAN RESULT IN DAMAGE TO THE HAMMER OR OTHER INTERNAL PARTS. Have a great day!
