David no the pistol grip cannot be removed its molded into the plastic case . The Mossberg 715t is not a AR-15 based firearm it is a Mossberg Plinkster action with a AR-15 stile case wrapped around it and special magazines NO AR-15 parts will fit this youtube will show what I mean https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eH4TDaJkLpQ
