Dennis, yes this has a 3 inch chamber so it will shoot 2-3/4 inch and 3 inch shells. Just fine. For the break in period so first 150-200 rounds, if shooting 2-3/4 inch shells I'd stick with standard or high velocity rounds to completely cycle the bolt. After it's broke in it should cycle any velocity ammo just fine. Hope this helps.

It is recommended to break it in with high power shells (50 or so) initially and then clean and re-lube.
