Yvonne, this gun would be fine for a woman. Being a .22lr caliber, it has next to nothing in recoil. The .22lr cartridge is commonly used for training or introducing new shooters due to it's low recoil. Have a great day!
Yvonne, this would be great for women or children. I have a heritage rough rider and my niece and nephew love shooting it. Barely any kick at all. She's 9 he's 11. So won't have any issues. Hope this helps.
22lr caliber pistols/rifles have almost no recoil to mitigate. Great beginners gun to start with b4 moving on to a larger caliber gun.
Yvonne, no but, it is large and heavy. There are much smaller, lighter and higher capacity 22LR semi-auto handguns. This one's hammer has to be pulled before the trigger can be fired (old cowboy style). Since the caliber is also 22lr and does not kick hard, I would highly recommend this handgun : https://www.budsgunshop.com/product_info.php/products_id/78871/bersa%2bt22dt%2bthunder%2b22%2bseries%2b10%252b1%2b22%2blr%2b%2b35%22
