Steve, most 32 revolvers of that era used 32 S&W Long ammunition. Hey we share the same name. 32 Long ammo will work
I would take the gun to a good gunsmith and make sure that it is not a problem with the gun ( broken firing pin ,cylinder alignment) He can also tell you what ammo it should be using. It is unlikely but there were .32 rimfires made
