I think you are asking if this stock would fit a .223 Howa action (receiver/barrel assembly) I would suspect that it could be done (great gunsmiths can do almost anything with enough cash) as far a doing it easily I would give Legacy a call 1-800-5-LEGACY and ask if nothing else it may prompt them to look at coming out with a new model as I think a lot of people would be interested in that model in a 5.56/223

You actually can change the barrel/ action to any Howa "Short Barreled" actions including .243 - You can verify this at 1-800-5-LEGACY.
